Visa Application

The visa process will take about 3-4 weeks to get everything but I recommend starting the process as soon as you get accepted into your university abroad as long as it is not more than 3 months from your departure date. The Korean consulate in Hawaii is located in Nu'uanu and is sometimes unhelpful for visa applications, they made me return 3 times because they claimed I did not have the right documents. The list below is the documents you need for the visa application but changes could've been made since I got my own. More information can be found online on the Korean consulate in Honolulu's website.

1. Filled out visa application

2. Original passport

3. 1 passport sized photo

4. Original Hawaii or US ID card or green card if you are not a passport holder

5. Original certificate of admission

6. Business certificate of school from Korea

7. Bank statements from the past three months that shows financial capability to live in Korea or other signs of proof

8. Official latest school transcript

9. Visa processing fee

10. Certificate of enrollment from your home university
