Shidler Scholarships
Getting scholarships is extremely smart as it helps immensely to fund your study abroad experience for board, tuition, to recreational expenses. What I and so many others did is I applied to Shidler's own scholarship program for the Freeman scholarship which is for students studying abroad in Asia. The Johnson scholarship is for students studying abroad in Europe and both of their processes are very simple.

Also, scholarships that UH gives you through STAR or anything else apply to study abroad because through MIX you are paying UH tuition and your scholarships cover that. When applying for STAR scholarships for the upcoming semesters I would use the key word search to include not only your major, year, and extracurriculars but also include study abroad and the country or program you will be in. There are many study abroad specific scholarships that can help you out. Also, MIX sent us some opportunities for study abroad scholarships that I recommend you capitalizing on.
