Museums

Korea has many museums filled with both contemporary art, traditional art, and historical pieces. I recommend trying a little bit of all to fully envelope yourself in the culture of Korea. A few suggestions of places are the Leeum Museum of Art and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, which both have rotating exhibits so there are multiple art pieces you can witness during your stay in Korea. A couple other museums that have history backing them include Dongdaemun History Museum, National Museum of Korea, and the National Folk Museum of Korea. Dongdaemun History Museum gives you a glimpse of the history of that area as it was important for irrigation during ancient Korea. It also offers a few interactive exhibits like how to wield a sword and other exhibits, like when I went, there was a whole section dedicated to apartments and the architectural aspect of their creation. In other area of Dongdaemun Design Plaza, where the history museum is located, was a section about old televisions and their screens.
